following complementary therapies are available at Whisc's Bold

Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, energy which
is all around us. It is a natural, simple hands-on technique which
channels energy through the hands of a Reiki practitioner. It works
on the mind, body and spirit by stimulating the body's own natural
healing capacity and works to create a sense of balance and harmony.
Suitable for very young, elderly and those recovering from surgery.
Shiatsu
This is sustained application of pressure to various acupressure
points, meridians (as in acupuncture) and areas of the body using
thumbs, knuckles, fingers and palms, sometimes even elbows, knees
and feet. Shiatsu is a holistic treatment which works on the physical,
emotional and mental levels.
This
treatment is performed with the recipient wearing loose fitting
clothing. Sessions last 30 to 60 minutes. The aim is to restore
and balance the flow of 'chi' (energy), release tension and induce
relaxation. It also supports the immune system and the bodies capacity
to heal.
Aromatherapy
This is the use of esential oils, extracted from teh flowers, fruits,
leaves, stems and roots of folwers, shrubs and trees.
Essential
oils may be inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Inhaled scents
stimulate the olfactory centres in the nose and particular parts
of the brain.
Oils
massaged into the skin pass into the bloodstream and can influence
nervous system function, mental function and emotions.
Swedish
Massage
This is a holistic treatment which addresses the whole person's
psychological, physical and emotional wellbeing. It involves kneading
and manipulation of soft tissue (muscles, tendons and ligaments).
Most practitioners use some kind of oil, so you will need to undress.
Deep tissue massage is aimed at relieving chronic pain and involves
a more intense application of strokes and a higher level of expertise
than general aromatherapy massage.

face. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve accumulated
tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint movements. Aids

movements on all parts of the foot and sometimes hands and ears.

the skin and an imbalance in the corresponding organ or body part.

improve blood supply and aid detoxification.

To
get the most out of your treatment you are advised to:

stimulants such as tea, coffee and alcohol for the next 24 hours.
These can dehydrate you.
- Have
as much rest and relaxation as possible so your body has the maximum
benefit.
- Drink
plenty of water to help the body flush out toxins
- Following
an Aromatherapy treatment avoid hot baths, saunas, steam rooms
and sun beds.
- Shampoo

After
your treatment, you may experience flu like symptoms. This is not
unusual and is your body's natural way of releasing toxins. These

of wellbeing
is maintained.
